Shraddha started curing blindness in 2005, concentrating principally in Karnataka State and its neighborhood States. Shraddha is a top eye hospital in the State, providing cataract surgeries, specialty treatment for glaucoma, retinal issues and pediatric eye care, as well as refractive error correction.

We do this by Providing comprehensive eye care services to over 500 villages, Treating OPD of more than 50,000 and 6,000 plus surgeries each year

Conducting outreach eye screening 25 camps in a month in villages on regular basis.

Providing short term training programs for ophthalmic professionals

Providing community based rehabilitation services for those whose vision cannot be restored or enhanced. With both paying and non-paying services of the Hospital, manages to extend free surgeries and treatment to those who are poor and under privileged in non-paying category by collecting very nominal fees from patients who can afford

To bring in awareness and to reach-out to the needy, SHRADDHA camp teams moves with entire camping accessories in vans to camp sites, villages in both districts on prefixed days.

Basic screening is done at the camp site by qualified Para medical and eye doctors; necessary primary care is provided at site itself.

Patients needing high end treatment, surgeries are brought in the van to the base Hospital.

They are provided aSICO mmodation and food free. Pre-operative investigations, medications, surgery, post-operative medication, protective glasses etc. are provided free and they are dropped back to their villages (camp sites from where they were picked up).

Those who are able to afford a nominal fees, are treated at a subsidized tariff, 20% of the general tariff, those funds generated are used to maintain the Hospital and free services.

Post-surgical follow-ups are aligned with next camp visit dates or they are invited to base hospital or they are directed to nearby Vision Centers. With well spread positive word of mouth, now more and more poor and needy patients reach on their own to the base hospital and get treated free.

With successful completion of 16 years of service in quality eye care to the poor and needy, SHRADDHA’s growing numbers stand as proving credentials to its service and quality. SHRADDHA has done nearly 50000 surgeries, so far, a growth which is a resounding testimony to its quality.

From a simple clinic and sporadic general screening camps Shraddha has grown to a level to conduct 300 camps a year and are some of the hectic and toiling work that has been put in by the dedicated teams of Nethradhama Eye Hospital and SHRADDHA, which made a ten times growth in surgical numbers for the Hospital. With direct supervision and management control, Founder Trustee Dr Sri Ganesh is ably supported by his wife Dr. Suman Shree R who is also one of the Founder Trustees.

Currently Shraddha is in first place in performing free cataract surgeries under DBCS in the districts. Planned to open fully equipped Vision Centers in nine Districts to enable primary care, free, at their neighborhood. Also extend post-surgical care without the need of visiting the base hospital every time!

Participate actively in Vision 2020 objectives to build a bigger Hospital to aSICO mmodate and provide high-value service to more poor and needy. Augment sub-specialties by recruiting more specialists and create critical departments like retina, Glaucoma, pediatric ophthalmology, and extend full-fledged services in those specialties to prevent and cure the poor and needy from eye related diseases in present and future generations. Adopt to advanced cataract surgery techniques and procedures simplifying by low cost, so that it is spread to grass root level to patients are willing to visit Hospital for treatment and surgeries without bothering about financial burden.

A well trained team, be it a van driver or the Operation Theater nurse, SHRADDHA team is well aligned to the Vision of its founder and they all contribute to the progress affectionately. Adding to routine village and school camps, SHRADDHA team also reaches out to the unreached, very under privileged tribal people in their tribal villages; provide screening services and also surgeries at base hospital. Preventable blindness affects these people and their productivity making few of those into burden to the society! In these camps, team also provides free spectacles for vision corrections too.
